Afterburner, Inc. Facilitates Keynote and Team Building Workshop for Oracle Brazil’s Applications Team
Former fighter pilots lead group of 35 through cutting edge Leaning Forward program in Sao Paulo, Brazil
Atlanta, September 10, 2012—Today’s leading management training and consulting firm, Afterburner, Inc., delivered a high-energy keynote to 35 employees of the Brazilian location of the computer technology giant, Oracle, in Sao Paulo. Afterburner’s highly trained fighter pilot consultants revealed the firm’s revolutionary Flawless Execution© model, and then implemented a hands-on workshop that allowed attendees to apply the model to everyday processes, identifying potential and recurring errors.
Founded in 1977, Oracle consistently leads the software industry in innovation and development, including its introduction of the first commercially available relational database. Oracle Brazil offers a multitude of products and services for the southern half of the Western Hemisphere, including the integration, management, and servicing of the brand’s database systems. Afterburner has an ongoing partnership with Oracle in the U.S., having performed numerous leadership and team building programs with the Nashville, TN-based corporation. The successful keynote and workshop was the first event held with Oracle Brazil.
The Leaning Forward program was led by former U.S. Air Force pilot Matt “Whiz” Buckley and his wingman, Paulo “Hollywood” De Vasconcellos, an experienced Brazilian fighter pilot. The pair teamed up for the Leaning Forward workshop to train the Oracle Brazil staff on the Plan, Brief, Execute, and Debrief cycle, with emphasis on the Planning and Debriefing steps. The motivational keynote was followed by a Mission Planning Exercise that gave Oracle employees the opportunity to apply the model’s cycle to actual scenarios in which thorough planning and debriefs were key to group success.
The Flawless Execution© model was created by former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot Jim “Murph” Murphy in reflection of principles used by military professionals in hostile environments. A zero-tolerance-for-error approach and a holistic, four-part strategic framework address the instabilities of an ever-changing business environment, and equip team members with the tools needed to perform at optimum levels.
