Afterburner Consultants Take Over Annual Executive Board Meeting, Initiate Interactive Afterburner Day Program
Stunned attendees were delighted at the atypical turn of events during the March meeting in Atlanta
Atlanta, March 30, 2013 — As Vice President’s, Medical Directors, and board members of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta began to assemble in the lobby of the Hellenic Center, not one could anticipate what would happen next.
With coffee and bagels in hand, the crowd watched as five uniformed military personnel with bull horns descended upon the crowd, ushering the stunned group into the camouflage-and-netting draped event space. The unexpected turn of events in the group’s usual meeting was not lost on attendees, as their surprised and delighted faces filled the auditorium.
Unbeknownst to the group, their usual meeting had been foregone for an Afterburner Day, a four-hour program facilitated by the top leadership development firm, Afterburner. The program is an in-depth, hands-on workshop that trains attendees on the firm’s nationally acclaimed Flawless Execution model.
A hybrid model comprised of combat-proven military techniques and a communication-based leadership style, Flawless Execution instills a culture of full-team collaboration to circumvent internal and external threats and facilitate a higher level of learning.
The Afterburner Day is unlike any other team building program today. Following a dynamic keynote that introduced attendees to the model, the group broke out into squadrons of 15 to complete a mission planning exercise that gave them the opportunity to immediately apply the processes learned from the Flawless Execution model.
Given the circumstances of a combat mission exercise, the teams used the model design a recovery plan to save embedded soldiers in enemy territory. Created to force unreserved communication and full-team contribution, the proprietary model ensures strategically sound plans that address all circumstantial issues and opportunities.
